This was the first play/hip hop theater performance that I have ever directed. The album itself was phenomenal. It's the type of album you can listen to over and over again without getting tired of it. It's hip hop and rnb on a funky rock soul backdrop with content about love and outer space. I mean, you can't get better than that!

So I came in at the very end. I would like to credit all of those involved with having the vision and putting everything together as much as they did. When they called me they had everything but a director, a videographer and breakdancers. So that's where I fit it. We coordinated what would happen during the songs and who would do what. Slippers had a full live band and visuals and the whole nine. The aerialist had their own gear and we performed the entire thing at a circus school. We got footage from the 1 dress rehearsal and the actual performance. 

I definitely think this is the direction I am going in the future. I like going to shows and I am a super fan of so many people, but this is what I want to see. A multimedia/theatrical performance. So here's to it and we will have to see what the future holds.

Aloe Blacc - My Way

Watch on Instagram This song is a testament to staying true to yourself and listening to your heart. No matter the pressure, no matter the stakes. Doing something your Own way and taking pride in that. With an old school feel, this song is inspiring, refreshing and a breath of fresh air to my ears. Roy Ayers, Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed-Muhammad - Jazz is Dead 002

  The perfect summer soundtrack. This album is everything to me right now. It has such a good feel, in a niche that's perfect for anything, anytime, or whatever. It's real music by the legend Roy Ayers and Ali Shaheed-Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest. Adrian Younge is amazing and this album makes me want to go and get more of his stuff. He's worked with Souls of Mischief and Ghostface Killah.  Please take a listen to this. It is definitely worth it. Kicking it off with Synchronize Vibration and it sounds like Erykah Badu should be rockin on it. This is the best thing I've heard this year! It's so smooth and sexy, but also super chill and vibey. There's chunky bassy parts, jazzy drums, meandering saxes, airy vocals...what more could you want?!? This is the second installment.
