Roy Ayers, Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed-Muhammad - Jazz is Dead 002

The perfect summer soundtrack. This album is everything to me right now. It has such a good feel, in a niche that's perfect for anything, anytime, or whatever. It's real music by the legend Roy Ayers and Ali Shaheed-Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest. Adrian Younge is amazing and this album makes me want to go and get more of his stuff. He's worked with Souls of Mischief and Ghostface Killah.  Please take a listen to this. It is definitely worth it. Kicking it off with Synchronize Vibration and it sounds like Erykah Badu should be rockin on it. This is the best thing I've heard this year! It's so smooth and sexy, but also super chill and vibey. There's chunky bassy parts, jazzy drums, meandering saxes, airy vocals...what more could you want?!? This is the second installment. There was a first version, so if you are hungry for more, you are in luck! Listen on Amazon Buy on Vinyl Listen on iTunes Listen on Spotify #newmusic #musicreview #newrelease #royayers #jazz...

Aloe Blacc - My Way

Watch on Instagram This song is a testament to staying true to yourself and listening to your heart. No matter the pressure, no matter the stakes. Doing something your Own way and taking pride in that. With an old school feel, this song is inspiring, refreshing and a breath of fresh air to my ears. The keys and the finger snap verses give it such an easy feel. The horns and the drums, along with the backup singers, is a great compliment to Aloe’s vocals. I hope to see more like this in the future! Listen on Amazon Listen on iTunes Listen on Spotify #newmusic #hiphop #soul #jazz #neosoul #oldschool #singersongwriter #ballads #livemusic #aloeblacc

Knox Family - World Turns

ðŸŽ¶ As the World Turns and the Souls burn, I keep on salivating marinating til they learn...I had track 9 in my head all day today so I decided to listen to it in the car. I love the sonic textures and the vocal chops and melodies. This track was me on the beats, Julie C and Jerm with the lyrics and Rufio on the vocals. Best served chilled and played loud in a dimly lit room with subs. #bgirlmedia #knoxfamily #seattlehiphop #musicfor2020 Listen on Bandcamp

Mars - Live Hip Hop Performance - Los Angeles

Mars - Live Hip Hop Performance - Los Angeles Details: August 2017 A life performance of the album Mars, by Slippers and Aceyalone, in Los Angeles, CA. Music by Slippers. Lyrics by Aceyalone. Produced by Kim Ryan of Static Free Productions. Directed by DJ B-Girl of B-Girl Media. Listen on Amazon Listen on iTunes Listen on Spotify This was the first play/hip hop theater performance that I have ever directed. The album itself was phenomenal. It's the type of album you can listen to over and over again without getting tired of it. It's hip hop and rnb on a funky rock soul backdrop with content about love and outer space. I mean, you can't get better than that! So I came in at the very end. I would like to credit all of those involved with having the vision and putting everything together as much as they did. When they called me they had everything but a director, a videographer and breakdancers. So that's where I fit it. We coordinated what would happen during the song...
